More Guest Blog Networks Taken Down Months After Warnings
Just a few months ago Google announced a new change in its search algorithms stating that guest blogging is now a no no, and has proven to hold to its word as it starts penalizing guest blogging networks with its recent one being Post Joint. Post Joint is not allowing this to phase them, and said they will continue to strive outside of Google.
One mention with an online source says that Post Joint does not show up on searches for its own name. We find this to be true but if you enter Postjoint.com they do show up, however if you enter Post Joint, they do not. How they will continue to strive with out the largest search engine in the world is a bit puzzling to us.
My Blogguest has reportedly been penalized now as well. One concern that we might have is that legitimate sites are now scared to allow guest bloggers on their websites due to the changes and threats that could possibly enter their website into Google jail.
What is your opinion on this subject?
Did you allow guest blogging before? Are you still going to continue to allow it?
Can your site withstand not being on Google?
Is Your Site Popular or Do You Know What Your Talking About
Google employee Matt Cutt's announced that a new Google Algorithm change is coming in the near future to help improve their search query results. The new change is going to measure the sites for authority and not so much for popularity. Many sites or blogs are popular and get a lot of traffic but what is their niche? Are they just popular on the subject or are they an authority on the subject?
So to put it plainly lets say you have a blog and your niche is Pets, and this blog is very popular but you end up writing a blog post about Weddings. Well right now your post about weddings since, your blog is so popular is going to rank high for searches in Weddings. What is being proposed is that those kind of posts and sites will not rank as high. Google is wanting to give people a search experience to where they are seeing people that are experts on the subject or making sure that a website for a niche is actually posting fresh content for that niche.
Since no exact information is really coming out of Matt about the exact changes, its strongly recommended to people that you start tailoring your content strictly to your niche and not get side tracked about writing about something completely off base. If you start working on your content now, its less likely that your website will be hurt with this new change. So you can wait and see what happens or you can get a head of the game and start working on building quality content that will show Google you are an Authority of that special niche. With out knowing the exact dates you should be cleaning up your site and blog now so you don't loose your organic traffic. Supposedly this change is going to help small businesses and smaller sites get more organic traffic because they are the professional on what they are writing about.
It will give people better, and faster results especially if your looking for medical advice. How many times have you did a search and you had to dig a few pages because the sites that are showing up on the first few pages mention what your looking for but the people writing it don't know what they are talking about?
This happens many times for example how many times have you did a search and you got an Answer site, or a ASK Question site with various people chiming in their opinions or thoughts on a subject? I have done this all too many times and found useless information or the wrong information. This is what Google is planning on cleaning up with this new change. I guess we will see more or hear more when it actually happens.
Key Word Research With Keith and Jennifer
At around 1:30 AM this morning me and my good friend Jennifer Salhi did our first practice run with Google Hang Outs and we discussed key word research when it comes to content marketing for your business. Since both Jen and I are in the business of marketing and making money online, we are going to include a free pdf with key words on making money online for anybody that watches the recorded live hang out. I wanted to do this post to explain to you how to properly place key words in your blogs, and on your website so you dont get knocked for key word spam. Yes even using too many key words can get you slapped by Google for Key word spam.
What is Key Word Spam? Well its when you use one key word or key word phrase multiple times when it dosent make sense as far as the reading flow of the article. Its also when you over utlize a key word and key word phrase. Now why search engines have never gave us the magic number of what is too much. There have been tests and studies done, and we can give you a number of how many times. The average use of a key word and or key word phrase should be used at least 3 times and no more then 6. We have seen this work very well for ours and other peoples websites.
Where To Place Key Words In Content
Here is a bit of SEO information for you. When your using your keywords be sure to place them in the following places, if you can.
Descrption - Depending on what blog program you are using, this is usually the first 160 charactors of text in the first paragraph if your article. However try not to use it in the first two words.
Headings - Make when you are writing you do your content in a break down of 3 Headlines or sub subjects of the main article. Use your key words in those subject headlines.
Actual Post - The main part of you article is where you will want to drop your key word and key word phrases at least 3 to 6 times. You can go up to 8 but if you do this, use it towards the end of the post. Try to space them out as much as you can.
If you utlize this you will notice your ogranic traffic increase to your online content steadily.

Stop Submitting Articles To Article Directories Now
We all know with the changes that Google has been making over the last few years, that they are working on giving their searchers more quality content when looking stuff up online. This is something that content marketers need to really wake up and smell the coffee on. If you think for one min that you can keep doing what Google has been warning about, and you wont get any kind of penalities think again.
Google announced a few weeks ago that Guest Blogging is going to become obselete as they find most guest blogging is linking to low quality websites. Even if your blog is a high quality site, if you allow a guest blogger to write for you and post their link to their site, and if their site is low quality your the one going to be penalized. Google has already started to contact webmasters to let them know that their sites are not meeting their quality guidelines.
Now a while back no matter what if you had a link of your website on another site that was good. Right? Well now its not. If Google finds links of your website on low quality sites such as most article directories its going to be your site that is penalized. As far as Article Directories most of them are getting hit as spammy sites, and they do look that way because so many people that are using this as a form of marketing is really not writing for their readers but trying to write for the search engines. Which is not a great way to get your content seen anymore. I dont know how many times I have to say this but CONTENT IS KING. Google has even gotten away from their Key Word Tracker in Google Ad Words. They are wanting people to start creating content for their readers and not so much for the searches.
Why Article Writing use to be one of the best ways to get links to your site and help generate traffic, that form of marketing is now dead. We strongly suggest that you dont even use it in 2014 or you could run the risk of having your site hit with penalities from Google. Why Google is not the only search engine in town, its by far the largest and most used. So to say that you can do with out Google is like saying you can write with no hands.
If you want to get good content out on the internet the best way to do it is by blogging, microblogging, and using Google Plus. People are not aware that SEO is changing and if Google had their way there would be no such thing as SEO period. What they want to see is great valuable content and for their searchers to be able to find it faster then they would 3 years ago. Cutting down the time that is waisted by searching multiiple sites until they get to the site that answers their questions.
If you think oh this wont affect me, and want to keep using Article Directories as a form of marketing then go right a head. But when your site stops showing up on the largest search engine, dont say we didnt warn you.
What To Do If The Panda Got You
Google finally incorporates Panda in their search permantely and is active now. If you beilieve your site was impacted by Panda there are ways to improve your site and get it back to where it was. Content is King and I have been saying this in alot of my posts when talking about website traffic and getting your site noticed in the search engines espicially Google. Google is wanting to make sure that viewers are finding the high quality information that they are looking for and knocking down lower quality sites so readers are not seeing garbage or being tricked into going to a site that is full of advertising.
Like Matt talks about in his video, if you beilieve your site was impacted by the recent Panda roll out then you need to evaulate your site to see if its really offering high quality value to your readers. When you read over your site ask yourself does the information I have on here giving people value for what they are looking for? If the answer is no, then you need to remove, add, and tweak your site so its more valuable to readers.
We were a little bit skeptical as to how Panda was going to affect content marketers, and other network marketing sites, and have discovered that people just need to be asking more questions on how to make their sites stand out compared to their competition and cookie cutter websites. Now websites with some affiliate marketing programs will not do as well with nautral searches becauase there are so many different copies out there that when Google crawls the site they are seeing duplicate information. So when your looking at your site you need to do some research. Find out if you have duplicate information on your site and if you do, then you need to remove it, or change it so its offering value differently then how its protrayed over the internet. I am not talking about spinning it so its unique but change it so it offers a higher value then the other guy.
Just keep in mind that unique fresh content is what Google is going after and do not try to trick the search engines. Trying to trick the search engines will eventually get your website black balled and you will have a hard time to try to get it back on the Search Engines and can cost you a lot of headache and money.
