Key Word Research With Keith and Jennifer
At around 1:30 AM this morning me and my good friend Jennifer Salhi did our first practice run with Google Hang Outs and we discussed key word research when it comes to content marketing for your business. Since both Jen and I are in the business of marketing and making money online, we are going to include a free pdf with key words on making money online for anybody that watches the recorded live hang out. I wanted to do this post to explain to you how to properly place key words in your blogs, and on your website so you dont get knocked for key word spam. Yes even using too many key words can get you slapped by Google for Key word spam.
What is Key Word Spam? Well its when you use one key word or key word phrase multiple times when it dosent make sense as far as the reading flow of the article. Its also when you over utlize a key word and key word phrase. Now why search engines have never gave us the magic number of what is too much. There have been tests and studies done, and we can give you a number of how many times. The average use of a key word and or key word phrase should be used at least 3 times and no more then 6. We have seen this work very well for ours and other peoples websites.
Where To Place Key Words In Content
Here is a bit of SEO information for you. When your using your keywords be sure to place them in the following places, if you can.
Descrption - Depending on what blog program you are using, this is usually the first 160 charactors of text in the first paragraph if your article. However try not to use it in the first two words.
Headings - Make when you are writing you do your content in a break down of 3 Headlines or sub subjects of the main article. Use your key words in those subject headlines.
Actual Post - The main part of you article is where you will want to drop your key word and key word phrases at least 3 to 6 times. You can go up to 8 but if you do this, use it towards the end of the post. Try to space them out as much as you can.
If you utlize this you will notice your ogranic traffic increase to your online content steadily.
The Recorded Live Key Word Hangout With Keith and Jennifer
This was a very fly at the moment practice run of doing a Google Live Hangout, and we ended up discussing key word marketing and then boom, were giving good valuable information on key word research and how to use key words in your content. We are already in the works of planning future Hangouts for you to come and join the conversation with us on various ways to make money online, and market your current business on the internet.
Keep in mind this was not planned, so we are very real in this video, and not really polished, as it was around 1:30 Am and we didnt finish with our brainstorming of creating some great free how to's for you to use to grow your business.
Is The End of Small Business On Facebook Happening?
When Facebook first created Brand, Fan, and Business Pages a few years ago, small businesses along with Fortune 500 Companies started creating their online presence on the biggest social media platform to hit the internet. With over 1 Billion users it was the smart thing to do. Small Business owners started building large followings on their pages and creating engaging content for their fans that followed their page. However since Facebook has went public they have been looking at ways to increase their revenue and share prices.
At first we started seeing more and more ads in our personal news feeds, and why we had the option to promote a post on our business or fan pages, if you had over 500 Likes on your page your posts usually hit close to 30% of those people if not more depending on the engagement the post received. This was allowing small businesses to keep in contact with their customer base and keeping their brand in the minds of customers that were looking for their services. Back in December they rolled out a new algorythym that cut that organic views down to 6% by the end of last month. So if you are the local grocery store down the street and you have lets say 4,000 Fans/Likes on your page your average post is only going to reach 240 people depending on the time your Fans are on the internet. So you can proably cut that down by another 10 % of the 240.

So with that being said in order for Small Businesses to get seen on Facebook they will have to create more engaging posts so their posts are shared organically by their fans. Otherwise Small Businesses will have to start paying to promote their posts, filling the pockets of Facebook and their share holders. Will you pay to promote ads on Facebook? Will this be part of your marketing budget?
What we have started to do here at New Simple Marketing is, why we still use our Facebook Page we are putting more of our content out on Google Plus. The reason we were so big on using Facebook Fan pages was for SEO puproses. Well a couple of years back Facebook stopped having their real time search pushed out through Google, and started using BING as their official off site search engine. So with that being done, and now organic views being cut, we needed to start looking for a way to get our content out socially and for SEO purposes in building traffic to our sites. This is why we are focusing more on utlizing Google Plus as our social media site of choice.
Google Plus helps builds your small business, and or brand as an authority based on your content and how its shared around their site, pushing not only your posts up in Search results, but your brand, and website as well.
